Half-Day vs. Full-Day Production: Which Do You Need?
Half-Day vs. Full-Day Production: Choosing the Right Session
Production sessions are designed for projects that need more than a standard session can cover — multiple looks, locations, or a high volume of final images. The question is: half-day or full-day?
Half-Day Production (4 Hours)
Best for: a single project with moderate variety. Think one brand photoshoot with 3-4 outfit changes at one location, or a product line lookbook with 10-15 items. You'll get:
- 4 hours of shooting
- Up to 2 locations (if close together)
- 25-40+ final edited images
- Creative direction throughout
Good for: Personal branding sessions with multiple looks, small product catalogs, single-location commercial shoots, team headshots for groups of 10-20.
Full-Day Production (8 Hours)
Best for: complex projects with multiple setups, locations, or high image volume. Think a full brand library with studio and location work, a large product catalog, or comprehensive event documentation. You'll get:
- 8 hours of shooting
- Multiple locations
- 50-80+ final edited images
- Creative direction, shot planning, and an assistant on set
Good for: Complete brand imagery libraries, multi-location shoots, large team photography, extensive product photography, full-day event coverage with detail shots and candids.
The Decision Framework
Choose half-day if you have one clear deliverable and know exactly what you need. Choose full-day if you need variety across contexts, high image volume, or the flexibility to shoot without watching the clock.
The Overlap
Both include pre-session planning, professional editing, and a private online gallery. Both can be customized with add-ons like hair and makeup, additional edits, or expedited delivery.
